Last night I read this line from one of Anais Nin’s diaries; “luxury is not a necessity to me, but beautiful and good things are.”
Oh how perfectly stated. How wonderfully true.
I just planted this beautiful, verdant, happy fern into this white spun clay pot and I feel so thankful for all things beautiful and good.
Little white stone Buddha on my bedroom dresser – my peaceful reminder to be present and breathe.
My niece’s kindergarten art work – “I will not wait until pig fly – I will show my best effort now!” Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.
It amazes me how much power (the good and positive kind) these little things hold. I walk by this artwork in my hallway and every time my eyes fall on it, intentionally and unintentionally, I feel a little joy inside. I think of Elisa and of flying pigs of course. I do a quick mental best effort check and am motivated to try a little harder. And without fail, I smile.
